Where Would I Fit In?

With adult Bible classes for married couples, single adults, newlyweds, college students, etc., Sunday school classes for beginners to seniors in high school, and special needs classes for the deaf and blind, there is a place for you!

Sunday Bible Classes - 9:30 a.m.

During this time, adults can choose from over 50 adult Bible classes to attend. These classes vary in size and focus.

Classes are also available for children as young as four years old up to seniors in high school. These classes give them an opportunity to grow spiritually and learn vital biblical truths at a young age.

Adult Bible classes and Sunday School classes meet from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., right before the main preaching service. This is the perfect opportunity for you and your family to meet other fellow believers and also learn great Bible truths.

Nurseries

Child Care

We also provide first-class nurseries and childcare for your newborn or baby, where they will be kept safe and well supervised. Every parent will be provided with a pager so that the nursery staff can notify that parent if assistance is needed or an emergency occurs. Our nursery staff is well-trained and experienced; we are good at what we do.

Where Do I Park?

Ample and convenient parking is available for all visitors. We also have parking spots designated for the elderly and handicapped. The map of our campus will provide you a detailed map of all the building and parking space locations.

What Should I Wear?

There is no strict dress code to attend our public services, but in case you're wondering, a majority of our church members wear their "Sunday best" — the men in a dress shirt and dress slacks, typically with a tie, and the women in modest dress.

Sunday Morning and Evening Services - 10:45 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

Every Sunday morning and Sunday evening, the main Sunday preaching service is held in the Main Auditorium with Pastor Jack Schaap. As you walk in, a friendly usher will greet you and be available for you to help you find a seat and answer any questions you may have.

We believe in having a church service with good, uplifting hymns and spiritual songs that will stir and inspire you, prayer, and best of all, practical preaching of the Word of God from Pastor Schaap.

At the conclusion of each Sunday service, all guests and visitors are invited to a Visitors' Reception in the East Overflow Room of the Main Auditorium to meet one of our assistant pastors, watch a four-minute video about First Baptist Church, and answer any questions. All visitors will also receive a copy of The Voice, the official newspaper of First Baptist Church, along with a free gift!Orchestra

Singing and Special Music

Every service gives you an opportunity to join us in singing hymns and spiritual songs. Each pew provides song books for you to use, which are available in the song book racks located behind every pew.

You'll enjoy the music as our 140-member choir sings while our 50-piece orchestra accompanies them. We also have many ensembles, youth choirs, singing groups, and orchestra specials throughout the services.

PreachingPrayer

We are a church that believes in prayer. Throughout the service, prayers are led by different men. Some of these prayers deal with the needs and requests of our church family and friends, while others simply praise and thank God for His goodness and faithfulness.

Preaching

We consider the preaching of the Word of God to be the best and the most important time of the service. I Corinthians 1:21 reads, "...it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe." We believe that the best help you can get in any struggle of life is from the Bible and that preaching is that help. Sunday evening invitation

Invitation

At the end of the preaching, Pastor Schaap will ask everyone to stand and will give an invitation. This is a time for many to respond and make a life-changing decision by walking down the aisle and praying at the altar. A decision may be to trust Jesus Christ as personal Saviour or to become a better Christian. Whatever your decision may be, the altar is open to you to join the hundreds that will make decisions.

If you would like someone to pray for you or would like to make your decision public, men from our pastoral staff will be by the altar to pray with you and help you.

Baptism

After the invitation is given, we have a baptism time at the end of every Sunday service. Those who have trusted Jesus Christ are baptized by immersion, making it as easy as possible to be baptized immediately after you get saved. However, we do not believe you can be saved by baptism. We provide two baptisteries, one for the ladies and one for the men.

Dozens and dozens of people get baptized every Sunday here at First Baptist Church. If you would like to be baptized, make your way to the altar, and men from our pastoral staff will be available to assist you.

Wednesday Evening Bible Study - 7:30 p.m.

The Wednesday evening Bible study takes place every week at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Auditorium of First Baptist Church. This is a time during the week when the church family gathers to listen and be taught practical, relevant truths from the Bible taught by Pastor Schaap. You will learn truths that will help you in the areas of prayer, marriage, child rearing, relationships, and more!
