as it has just finished the first phase of its renovation and will be having its ribbon-cutting ceremony with the general public on Sunday, November 8, at 1
p.m.

grandchildren, and daughter-in-law, spent the week in Dallas, Texas, having a wonderful time visiting with her mother and celebrating her birthday. Read

On Thursday, January 8, seventeen teenagers and four adults from the First Baptist Church of Hammond left for McMillan, Michigan,
to participate in the Annual Yooper Youth Rally held at Northstar Baptist Church. Brother Brian Hasse, our Senior High Youth Pastor,
was overseeing the trip, and Brother Eddie Lapina, our Youth Coordinator, was one of the chaperones. They stopped in Gaylord, Michigan,
on their way to the Upper Peninsula to go skiing at the Tree Top Ski Resort. While skiing, there was a tragic ski accident. Amanda
Vignere hit a tree and was injured. She later passed away from her injuries. Read more

Flood Relief October 2, 2008
Pastor Schaap wants to thank all of the church members who helped in our emergency response team during the recent flooding in
Munster and in the surrounding communities. He appreciates not only the fact that you helped members of our church, but that you
helped meet the needs of people throughout the community as well. Pastor Schaap would like you to know that the city of Hammond

FBC/Red Cross Blood Drive Exceeds Goal October 2, 2008
Sunday afternoon, September 28, was a bright, beautiful, early-fall day that saw scores of First Baptist Church members roll up
their sleeves and give blood. The drive was the second best ever held at the church and netted 164 productive pints of blood. Nearly
200 people participated (several volunteers could not give because of travel to certain foreign countries), with 21 of them giving "double-red" units.
