Saturday, February 14, was Valentine's Day. It was also the 80th birthday of Mrs. Beverly Hyles, mother of Cindy Schaap. Mrs. Schaap, accompanied by her daughter, grandchildren, and daughter-in-law, spent the week in Dallas, Texas, having a wonderful time visiting with her mother and celebrating her birthday. The folks from First Baptist Church flooded Mrs. Hyles with cards and letters – 60 on one day and 80 on the next day.

 

One of the finest gifts given to Mrs. Hyles was a new book written by Cindy Schaap, entitled, Southern Grace. Mrs. Schaap wrote the book as a tribute to her mother. The book is not a biography but rather contains anecdotal and descriptive thoughts of Mrs. Hyles. It is an attempt to give young girls a pattern for success as a godly woman in Mrs. Beverly Hyles as a living role model. The book cover is a beautiful portrait of Mrs. Hyles, who doesn't appear to be anywhere near 80 years of age.
