WRTW Radio Tower

The tower for WRTW is located in a corn field in Cedar Lake and is 1,000 feet tall!

Behind-the-scenes progress on WRTW has been paying steady dividends.

On October 31, 2008, a lease for space on an existing tower in Cedar Lake, Indiana, was signed. The original site considered for our Hyles-Anderson College campus proved to be impractical, and station engineers claim this new location will allow our facility to reach more people using less power than the Crown Point tower would have required.

A month ago, attorneys for our radio station filed a modification application with the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) for the change of location; approval of the change should be forthcoming in six months or less. Once the FCC approves the tower location change, the antenna is installed, and the studios are equipped and functioning, WRTW will begin broadcasting. The projected date is Summer 2009.

In recent months vigorous progress has been made in other key areas. A number of original programs are under development to be hosted by experts from across the country, as well as select First Baptist Church members, who will bring unique perspectives to our programming. WRTW has spent many weeks scouring the country for syndicated content that will meet the needs of our listeners. Additionally, a large archive of premium music is being gathered, and is growing steadily.

The FCC grants license holders a three-year window in which to complete construction of new stations, and WRTW is on track to beat that deadline with a year to spare. God has been gracious to light the way!

Please pray that the Lord would continue to prosper our efforts. It is a true threat to the powers of darkness! WRTW has the potential to reach many millions with the clear, unvarnished Gospel!
