Kids' Ministries

Partnering with you to help your children know and love Jesus

Come as a Family

At the heart of our Kids’ Ministry is a commitment to guiding children to know and love Jesus more. We aim to create a joyful and welcoming environment where your children can grow in Jesus and foster a deep and lasting love for Him. We suggest arriving 20 minutes early in order to check in your child and make it to the service on time. On your first visit, start at the Welcome Center in our Main Auditorium Building. We will help you find your child’s classes and give you a special gift.

NURSERIES

From the moment you enter our nursery areas, you will get a sense of a caring and loving environment, which stems from our dedicated and trained nursery staff. From infants to three years of age, children are provided with toys and activities perfect for their stage of development. Loving nursery workers provide a clean and safe environment so parents can have peace of mind while they attend one of our services. Nurseries are open during every public service, and all childcare volunteers are background-checked and screened.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Get ready for some fun Bible songs, amazing Bible stories, exciting crafts to bring home, and verses to learn from the Bible. Excited teachers are waiting for your arrival so they can share important truths from the Bible, such as obedience, sharing, being kind, and best of all, Who Jesus is! All of our teachers and assistants are screened and trained to make this a safe and exciting environment for every child. We have Sunday school classes for elementary-aged children every Sunday at 9:45 a.m., followed by age-appropriate children’s churches at 10:45 a.m.

Wednesday nights, our Transformers Kids’ Club is the place to be for elementary kids! They learn Bible lessons, sing songs, memorize Scripture, and enjoy a time for crafts and snacks with our teenagers.

Join Us for a Safe and Fun Experience!

Our campus has a lot of buildings, which to a guest can seem overwhelming at first. It’s not as complicated as it looks, and we would like to help you find the appropriate nurseries, classes, and services for every person in your family. Our greeters and ushers are located around campus, as well as in the lobby of our Main Auditorium Building, and will gladly help direct and even escort you to the right place.

We offer exciting and safe venues for your children in each age group. If you prefer to keep your young child with you in a service, please sit toward the back of the auditorium.

Mothers’ Rooms are located in our second-floor nurseries and are available to all mothers with infants.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of environment do the nurseries provide for babies and toddlers?

The nurseries offer a safe and comfortable space where babies can do their “baby things” without stress. Babies can rest, be fed, changed, and make their own noises freely, while toddlers can play, wiggle, and jabber, all while their personal needs are met.

Where should I go when I first arrive?

Our main entrance is located at 473 Sibley Street. A visitor parking lot and parking garage are located directly across the street from the Main Auditorium Building for easy access. As you approach the main entrance, one of our greeters will meet you at the Welcome Center and direct you to the right classes and services.

How does the nursery cater to the needs of 2- and 3-year-olds?

For 2- and 3-year-olds, the nursery offers a balance of playtime and learning activities, including stories, lessons, and songs, all designed to engage them at their level. Additionally, their toilet and personal training begun at home can continue seamlessly during this time.

When are the nurseries open?

The nurseries are open for a variety of church activities, including:

  • Sunday school
  • Sunday preaching services
  • Wednesday evening Bible study
  • Weddings, funerals, and ordinations
  • Choir and orchestra practice
  • Women’s Missionary Society meetings
  • Soul-Winning
  • Sunday school visitation
How does the nursery support both babies and toddlers during church services?

The nursery creates an environment that meets the physical and emotional needs of babies and toddlers. Babies are cared for in a restful, safe environment where they can sleep, eat, and play freely. Toddlers enjoy active play and learning, with their developmental milestones supported and nurtured during their time in the nursery.

What kind of care will my baby receive while in the nursery?

Your baby will be cared for in facilities that are designed to meet all of their needs, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment during their time in the nursery.

What should I pack in my baby’s diaper bag for the nursery?

Your baby’s diaper bag should include:

  • A disposable diaper for about every hour your baby will be in the nursery
  • Your baby’s brand of diaper wipes
  • Plastic bottles or a cup
  • A small snack with a spoon for the littlest babies, or a small snack of finger foods for toddlers
  • A bib and a complete change of clothing

Be sure to label everything with your baby’s name, including the diaper bag, bottle, cup, spoon, bib, food containers, clothing, and pacifier.

Why is it important to label my baby’s items?

Labeling your baby’s items ensures that the nursery workers can easily identify your baby’s belongings and return them to you. It also helps avoid mix-ups with other children’s items.

Where are the Mothers' Rooms located, and who can use them?

The Mothers’ Rooms are located in our second-floor nurseries and are available to all mothers with infants.

What will I need to do when I check my baby into the nursery for the first time?

When you check your baby into the nursery for the first time, you will be asked to fill out an information card and an emergency medical treatment form. These forms will enroll your baby in Sunday school and provide nursery workers with important information to better care for your baby.

How can I update the information provided on the forms as my baby grows?

As your baby grows and moves through different nursery stages, be sure to inform the nursery workers if any changes need to be made to the forms. It’s important to keep this information up-to-date for your baby’s safety and care.

Who is allowed to enter the nursery?

For your baby’s safety, only the nursery workers and babies are allowed to enter the nursery. No one else is permitted inside.

What should I do when I drop off my baby at the nursery?

To help your baby adjust, give the baby and diaper bag to the nursery worker along with all pertinent information. Then, take your pager, and leave quickly to allow your baby to settle in. Relax and enjoy the service, knowing that the nursery workers will care for your baby.

What if I need to nurse my baby between services?

If you need to nurse your baby, bring your pager with you to the nursery. The nursery workers will assist you and make sure everything goes smoothly.

How do I claim my baby after the service?

After the service, have your pager ready. Once you arrive, the nursery worker will assist you in returning your baby to you.

Can my baby stay in the nursery if they are sick?

For your baby’s protection and the safety of others, sick babies are not accepted in the nursery. If your baby is sick, you may sit with them in the West Overflow Room during the service.

What symptoms should I look out for before bringing my baby to the nursery?

Please keep your baby home if they show any of the following symptoms:

  • Unusual fatigue or irritability
  • A cold (from onset for about one week), including coughing, wheezing, sneezing, runny nose, eyes, or ears (any discharge that is not clear)
  • Taking antibiotics
  • Head lice
  • Fever, vomiting, or diarrhea within the past 48 hours
  • Inflamed or sore mouth or throat
  • Skin infections, rashes, or open sores
  • Any symptom of contagious diseases like chickenpox, measles, mumps, whooping cough, or croup
Why are sick babies not allowed in the nursery?

Sick babies are not allowed in the nursery to protect both your baby and other children from the spread of illness. Keeping babies who are not feeling well at home helps maintain a safe and healthy environment for everyone.
