Missions
Our focus is on reaching souls with the Gospel—from across the street to around the world! The First Baptist Church of Hammond is presently supporting over 400 missionaries. This includes individuals or families, entities, and national pastors. These missionaries represent a total of over 100 different countries.
In July of 2000, Fundamental Baptist Missions International became a part of the First Baptist Church of Hammond. Today, FBMI is moving forward under the leadership of Pastor John Wilkerson and Missions Pastor, Dr. Mark Bosje. FBMI’s emphasis is twofold, with a strong emphasis on both individual and team missions.
Fundamental Baptist Missions International is a local-church missions agency that trains, supports, finances, and develops missionaries and ministries which preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ, disciple believers, and multiply churches. It is our vision to see Gospel-preaching churches actively multiplying in every nation.

One of the greatest assets of our missions program is our Women’s Missionary Service, or WMS. As the good news of the Gospel goes out around the world, we have opportunities, like never before, to pray for and encourage the missionaries serving God across the globe. The WMS provides an organized way for all ladies of First Baptist Church to communicate with our missionaries. Our monthly, 90-minute meetings enable each of us to reach out to specific missionaries, get to know them, pray for them, and support their ministries. These meetings are also casual, fun times of fellowship spent with other ladies in our church, not strict, “members only” clubs. There is no pressure, and there are no monthly fees. We encourage you to visit any of our 22 circles and see for yourself!
