Community Outreach

First Baptist Church of Hammond is dedicated to serving our local community in Northwest Indiana and the greater Chicagoland area through multiple outreach programs that make a real impact.

Nursing Home Ministry

First Baptist Church’s Nursing Home Ministry holds weekly services, bringing comfort, hope, and fellowship to residents in local nursing homes.

Rescue Mission

First Baptist Church of Hammond operates the Hammond Rescue Mission and also serves hot meals to the homeless every Sunday after our morning service.

Simple-Steps Addiction Recovery

A weekly, faith-based addiction recovery program that gives you support for life’s challenges. Replace your addiction with a relationship with Christ.

Jail Ministry

First Baptist Church’s Jail Ministry brings hope and healing through Bible studies in several local facilities, impacting lives behind bars.

Sailor Ministry

Being separated from relatives and friends, coupled with the demands of military duty, can take its toll. First Baptist Church counts it a great honor to serve the military community at the Great Lakes Naval Base.

Truck-Stop Ministry

The First Baptist Church Truck-Stop Ministry serves truckers by providing them with meals, essentials, and a message of hope at local truck stops.

Thrift Store

Our Hometown Thrift Store is a nonprofit organization that channels all proceeds to help reach those in need in our community. Volunteer or donate gently used items to help this great cause.

Better Roads Recovery Home

The Better Roads Recovery Ministry provides two in-residence, addiction-recovery homes — one for men and one for ladies. The BRRM homes exist to offer addicts a six-month, structured, residential program consisting of counseling, mentoring, and life-skills training.

As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” I Peter 4:10
