At First Baptist Church, we believe that serving others is a powerful way to grow in faith and make a real difference. We invite you to get involved in one of our many ministries and be used by God to impact the lives of those around you. Just as Jesus came to serve, not to be served (Matthew 20:28), we strive to follow His example. Whether you’re passionate about outreach, teaching, or helping others, there’s a place for you to serve and contribute. Be used by God in His church to influence the lives of those around you.
Greeters & Ushers
Welcome visitors with a warm smile, and help them feel at home as they arrive at First Baptist Church.
Sound & Media
We have several workers who make sure our sound system works smoothly during every service. In addition, every service is live-streamed.
Bookstore
Our Foundations bookstore has Bibles, Christian books, curriculums, and music CDs available for purchase. These resources can be a blessing to any home or individual.
Bus Ministry
We have seen the powerful, life-changing impact of this ministry on countless boys and girls, teens, and adults. Every Sunday, scores of buses drive through Northwest Indiana and the Chicagoland area to bring people to church.
Church Choir
We believe in good, old-fashioned psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. FBC is blessed to have a church choir that takes time to practice and sing in both of our Sunday services, as well as performing special programs every Christmas and Easter.
Nursery Ministry
Our nurseries are divided by age and accommodate newborn babies through three-year-olds. Join our nursery team at First Baptist Church, and help care for and nurture the next generation as they take their first steps in faith!
Security
Our First Baptist Church security team is dedicated to ensuring the safety and well-being of every individual who walks through our doors. With trained volunteers and a proactive approach, they work diligently to provide a secure and welcoming environment for all.
Soul-Winning Outreach
Our church has many organized times of soul winning and visitation. Groups meet throughout the week to take God’s saving message to our area.
Prayer Meetings
Our church believes in the power of corprorate prayer. We hold several prayer meetings each week at various times and locations, in addition to a church-wide prayer meeting in the East Overflow Room of the Main Auditorium Building 30 minutes before every Sunday evening and Wednesday evening service.
Special-Needs Ministry
We believe every person deserves a chance to thrive and grow in God at First Baptist Church. Our Special-Needs Ministry reaches out to children, teens, and adults with physical, cognitive, and/or emotional disabilities and gives them the proper love, tools, and care to help them develop spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Conferences
Volunteering at our Servants’ Conference, Youth Conference, or Ladies’ Conference is an incredible opportunity to make a difference and serve others in meaningful ways. Whether you’re helping with logistics, greeting attendees, or supporting speakers during breakout sessions, your involvement will have a lasting impact.
